dobu: "Actually we wanted to face Rare Atom"
ATOX went into the Grand Final of the eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024 as the favourites being the higher ranked team but they went down fighting to the unranked Middle Eastern team XO.
Following their defeat in the Grand Final, dobu from ATOX shared his thoughts with Dust2 India.
Can you talk about your eXTREMESLAND experience and what it means to make the finals and what it means for Mongolian counter-strike to continuously perform at high levels.
Obviously it’s a proud feeling but we’re not just talking about Mongolian counter strike here, there a lot of other small regions with less opportunities like Thailand and stuff, eXTREMESLAND is doing a great job keeping them alive. It’s great for South East Asian and Asian CS and as usual we’re looking to improve from game to game.
Were you caught off guard by the fact that you had to face XO Esports in the final?
Haha actually yeah, we wanted to face (the favourites) Rare Atom again and take revenge on them but you never know who performs on LAN and XO Esports just showed that. We could never really say who would’ve made it to the final so our preparations depended very little on who we were going to face, nevertheless we had to play good to win.
