FaZe fight on to eliminate the defending champions
FaZe have eliminated Cloud9 from IEM Dallas 2023, taking down nafany's men 2-1. It seemed like FaZe would clean it up in two maps but Cloud9 fought back on FaZe's map pick to take the series to a decider. FaZe's win also secures their spot in the playoffs.
The series' opening map was Cloud9's pick of Mirage with FaZe starting on the CT side. rain got things underway with a 1v2 on the B site to give FaZe the pistol. Three multi-kills from ropz against two eco buys and in the first gun round saw FaZe keep their lead flawless at 4-0. Ax1Le's triple on a B hit helped Cloud9 post their first offensive round. FaZe stole their fifth on the back on nothing but pistols as Cloud9 dropped the ball on a late B execute. FaZe's seventh came off the back of a force buy which saw karrigan come in with three crucial kills on the FAMAS. broky and Twistzz's double AWP set-up helped FaZe win out the series and the double snipers propelled FaZe to at 13-2 lead.
Cloud9 picked up the second pistol and picked up the eco and the first gun round to secure their fifth round. ropz and broky's full house saw FaZe put up their first T round after a five round streak from Cloud9. FaZe put together three on the trot and it was a rain triple that saw FaZe close the map at 16-7.
FaZe pick was Inferno with Cloud9 starting on the T side. rain won a 1v1 against H0bbit to give FaZe the first round. buster's 1v1 against rain saw Cloud9 tie up the game at 2-2. sh1ro and H0bbit helped Cloud9 end the opening half with a 9-6 lead.
Cloud9 picked up the second pistol and went on a six round streak to secure map point. Ax1LE's double saw Cloud9 secure the map at 16-7 with buster on top of the scoreboard with 18 kills.

The series decider got underway on Ancient with Cloud9 picking up the pistol on the T side. Cloud9 had a 3-0 lead before FaZe secured their first round, Following Cloud9's fourth FaZe secured six in a row to win the half at 9-4. rain's double opener on round 14 saw FaZe put up their tenth defensive round and FaZe ended the first half with a 10-5 lead.
A double from karrigan and rain saw FaZe pick up the final pistol of the series. Twistzz won a 1v2 from the grave to secure 13 for FaZe and ropz and broky converted a 2v3 to put FaZe two rounds away from the series. A rain triple put FaZe on map point. Ax1Le and sh1ro kept Cloud9 alive for three more rounds as they pulled the score to 9-15 before FaZe closed the map at 16-9.
