G2 hammered by Heroic
Heroic handed G2 a proper beating as they comprehensively beat HooXi's men 2-0 to book themselves a spot in the semi-finals of IEM Dallas 2023. G2 will now have to play the quarter-finals to stand a chance to qualify for the final four.
The action got underway on G2's pick of Inferno with G2 starting on the T side. G2 picked up the pistol and the subsequent force buy and eco that saw them go 3-0 up. A brawl on banana saw Heroic post their first defensive round. A TeSeS triple kill on banana saw Heroic tie things up at 3-3. G2 put up their fourth on the back of one save AK47 and upgraded pistols but Heroic put together five in a row to go 9-4 up before G2 put up their fifth. cadiaN's triple saw Heroic end the first half with a 10-5 lead.

A NiKo triple helped G2 pick up the second pistol and it was another triple from NiKo against the force buy which saw G2 put up their seventh. It was all NiKo to kick off the second half as a 1v2 from the star rifler of G2 saw them bring it to a one round game. The Danes put up their first T round on the back of upgraded pistols with a jabbi double to open up the A site. cadiaN double on banana saw Heroic secure their 12. The Danish captain came up with an insane 1v2 against NiKo and m0NESY to put Heroic two rounds from map point. It was back-to-back 1v2s from cadiaN which saw Heroic move up to 14. The Danes closed the map at 16-9. Unsurprisingly it was the Danish captain on top of the scoreboard after Inferno with 24 kills.

On Heroic's pick of Ancient it was G2 on the CT half but it was the Danes who picked up the first pistol as jabbi won a 1v1 against jks. Relentless hits on both sides with no answer from G2 saw the Danes take an early 10-0 lead with sjuush coming in with two 1v2s to give Heroic their ninth and tenth. G2 put up their first CT round in the thirteenth round of the half but that one was all that G2 could manage as the Danes ended the opening half of Ancient with a 14-1 lead.
A jabbi triple in the second pistol saw Heroic secure map point and the Danes closed the game at 16-4 with G2 managing to put up three T rounds.
cadiaN had a stellar series, with 38 kills and a 1.50 rating across the series.
