Gods Reign are the Skyesports Masters Champions
After the thrilling matches yesterday, the finals are set to be a banger as Gods Reign take on Revenant. This was the first match of the Skyesports Masters League, and now the two face off again to close the season out and crown a champion. Who will emerge victorious as we come full circle?
Revenant started Anubis off with a flawless pistol win, and SKw0w was showing his form right from the beginning with round after round of impact. Gods Reign found their first full buy win in round 6, but gump wasn't willing to give up control that easily, as he clutched out a 1v2. Constant pushes from Gods Reign put them in precarious positions but their individuals bailed them out, allowing them to take the lead 6-5. Once in the lead, GR were dominant as they closed the half out 9-6 on Revenant's map pick.
One again, gump gave Revenant a fighting chance with a pistol round win. Solid trades in the gun round brought Gods Reign back into the second half as they went up 10-8. SpawN was dropped the M4A1-s from 3nable and the two annihilated Gods Reign's attack on an eco round. The individuals were keeping the map close, but GR kept their lead including a beautiful 2k in the post plant from KiiLSwitCh.
SpawN's rifle kept finding heads as he finally broke Gods Reign's economy in round 23 with a triple kill. Somewhere in NA DaZeD's career rolled in its grave as Gods Reign took a round with just glocks to deny the equaliser. Whiffs from SKw0w allowed GR to break into the A site and F1redup bunnyhopped his way to an early rest in round 25. A 4v5 to close it out, Gods Reign take a convincing victory on Anubis to set themselves up 1-0.
Moving over to their pick of Ancient, Gods Reign finally picked up a pistol win and converted it into a 3-0 start. A solitary round went the way of Revenant, but Gods Reign maintained their lead 5-1. Revenant picked up back to back rounds thanks to SKw0w's multifrags on B, shutting down the GR economy. That gave Revenant a 4 round streak, but that was all they could muster in the half as Gods Reign closed it out 10-5.
GR's pistol was answered back by Revenant as they took 3 rounds, before guns came out for both sides. Gods Reign quickly returned to winning ways at that point, getting to 14-8 quickly. reV3nnn's AWP closed out round 23, giving championship point to Gods Reign. And without breaking a sweat, Gods Reign take the win and emerge as the Skyesports Masters Champion.
