3DMAX holds on against Aurora

No third trophy in a row for Aurora

The second semi-final had Aurora looking for their third consecutive Skyesports title and in their way to another final appearance was the impressive French team, 3DMAX. With The MongolZ having locked in the Grand Final spot, their opponents were set to be decided following the BO3 encounter.

Inferno, the French team's pick saw them run away to a 10-2 start before Aurora began their comeback on their T side. The comeback was eventually denied by the French as they picked up a 13-9 win to start the series. Another slow start from Aurora on Nuke saw 3DMAX lock in eight-in-a-row to take an 8-4 lead. A force buy win after going down in the pistol saw Aurora bounce back with Norwi pulling his team over the line at 13-10.

The series decider was a tight affair as both teams knew what was on the line saw Anubis get underway with a tied opening half. Neither team gave an inch as it was a back-and-forth trade of rounds before the French captain Maka stepped up to clutch out a crucial 1v1 against Lack1 and then a triple from him saw 3DMAX hit match point first. The French team made sure to not choke again like on Nuke, as they locked in Anubis at 13-11.

3DMAX will face The MongolZ in the Grand Final of the Skyesports Championship 2024 later on today.
