Another poor outing for the Indian teams at IEM Rio Asia Qualifier 2

Gods Reign knocked out early on

After a quick exit for all the teams participating in the IEM Rio 2024 Asia Qualifier 1, we had multiple Indian teams back in action as they were looking to make it all the way to Brazil, as they got in action at the IEM Rio 2024 Asia Qualifier 2.

Round 1

While Gods Reign, Victores Sumus and Griffins got byes in the opening round, Nasha Patta faced TimForgiveness in Round 1.

  • Nasha Patta 3 - 13 TimForgiveness

Taking place on Vertigo, the Indian team were wiped clean as TimForgiveness started with a 11-1 lead and eased to a 13-3 win.

Round 2

  • Griffins 13 - 10 Psycho Squad

Griffins faced Psycho Squad in the second round and it was Griffins denying Psycho Squad a comeback to make sure their 9-3 start on Dust2 wasn't in vain as they held on for a 13-10 win.

  • Victores Sumus 13 - 11 SUBUTAI

Victores Sumus took on Mongolian team SUBUTAI in their BO1 encounter which took place on Ancient. It was an 8-4 lead for Victores Sumus before the Mongolian team began their comeback. arakyN's carry-performance helped Victores Sumus close things out right at the end to walk away with a 13-11 win.

  • Gods Reign 10 - 13 E9esports

India's best, Gods Reign went up against E9esports in their second round encounter which took place on Ancient. The Indian team started with a two-round lead but E9esports bounced back to run away with a 13-10 win to knock Gods Reign out.

Round 3

  • Griffins 4 - 13 Hyper5CS

Taking place on Mirage, the Indian team were outmatched against Hyper5CS, who secured a comfortable 13-4 win.

  • Victores Sumus 3 - 13 SayGGTeam

The only remaining Indian team after Griffins' elimination was Victores Sumus and they faced the same fate as Griffins as they too faced a big defeat on Mirage, going down 3-13.
