Bleh about Skyesports: "They have their heart in the right place"
In the 63rd episode of the podcast Geographically Challenged, Elfishguy, Bleh, and Pilski came together to discuss the Skyesports Masters 2024 LAN event held in Mumbai.
Bleh started by acknowledging that Skyesports clearly has a passion for Counter-Strike and praised the event's hospitality, noting that players he spoke with rated it 10/10. Despite the positive feedback, Bleh voiced concerns about the event's logistics and planning.
He suggested that instead of expanding the number of teams and prize pool, Skyesports could have invested more in the fundamental aspects of the event. He questioned why improvements weren't implemented from the start and recommended that Skyesports consider hiring specialists for administrative roles and other key areas, similar to how they successfully brought on a player manager experienced with ESL events, which Bleh found laudable.
Elfishguy added his perspective, giving the event a rating of 6.5 out of 10. According to him, the score of 7 would make for a fantastic event, and Skyesports was almost there, but it was great nonetheless. He praised Skyesports for their responsiveness to feedback, mentioning that small adjustments, like removing redundant graphics and adding an extra pair of casters, could have enhanced the experience.
Elfishguy concluded by expressing a positive outlook on future events in India, stating he would confidently recommend them to teams. Bleh agreed and added that the next event should be hosted in Bangalore.
