ILG Season 4 alleged of prize money scam

The organizer has run multiple events at partnered cafes

Yet another prize money controversy surfaces and this time, the long running Indian LAN Gaming circuit takes the limelight for all the wrong reasons. A little over a month ago, Dust2 India first received information from a team (Gaming Gladiators) that participated in Indian LAN Gaming Season 4 in games including Counter-Strike, VALORANT and Overwatch.

Gaming Gladiators claimed to have won the Counter-Strike event at Indian LAN Gaming Season 4 and one of their players alleged that their point of contact with ILG has gone radio silent with no information regarding the prize money. Their player even mentioned that the team has sent a legal notice to LXG, Bangalore - one of the TO's partner cafes.

Rohit, a frequent participant in ILG events under the in-game name Curator shared his experience with the tournament organizer. The player claimed to have won eight tournaments and secured runner-up statuses at two tournaments. Rohit mentioned that he was paid only for one tournament amounting to 25,000 INR.

Fact box

All of ILG's tournaments had prescribed cash prizes of 35,000 INR for the winner and ₹15,000 for the runner-up

After a great run with my team (Bemisaal Esports) throughout the ILG Season, we were looking forward to the ILG master Season but after the season ended all the employees started ghosting us. Most of them said that they have already left the company, the number and mail mentioned on website doesn’t revert back. It's been more than a year since the last tournament and still we are due with the prize winnings. No Wonder we have such an esteemed reputation internationally even when the tournaments were backed up by esteemed companies, including Jio. I have lost all hopes to even get a callback in this matter. I just feel we should stop participating in all the tournaments cause they are useless at the end of the day. You pay at cafes to play these tournaments yet all you get is ignorance from the Organizers.

Dust2 India has attempted to reach out to executives of Indian LAN Gaming through multiples channels to confirm these allegations but all queries were left unanswered. In the process, another party has shed light on their own experience at the Indian LAN Gaming tournament where the said candidate claimed that they had won over eight tournaments but was paid for just one, leaving a balance of around 2,00,000 INR.

People were seen commenting on Indian LAN Gaming's post on Facebook alleging them of prize money scam and a quick chat with the Indian gaming community revealed multiple accusations of payment delays exceeding an year across various titles such as Counter-Strike, VALORANT, Overwatch, etc.
