Here are all the Asian teams at BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major
With all the MRQs concluding, the teams for the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major has been finalized. Through three MRQs and one VRS invite, five teams from the Asia-Pacific region has made it to the Major.
A deep run at the Shanghai Major from The MongolZ fetched a couple of extra slots for Asian Counter-Strike at the Austin Major. With four Asian teams in the mix, this is the highest ever representation Asia has gotten at any Major. The Perfect World Shanghai 2024 Major saw The MongolZ and Rare Atom represent Asia with FlyQuest representing Oceania or the wider APAC region.
Here's a quick look at all the teams at BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major from the Asia-Pacific region.
The MongolZ
The spearheads of Asian Counter-Strike, The MongolZ single handedly skyrocketed the Asian scene. A stellar 2024 saw The MongolZ put up 3-0 records in the opening and elimination stages of the Shanghai Major taking down teams like G2, HEROIC, MOUZ, MIBR and GamerLegion in the process. However, the team's run was cut short in the quarter-final.
The MongolZ have been pushing tier 1 teams to their limits, taking them down regularly. While sitting head and shoulders above the rest in the Asian VRS, The MongolZ also have a highly respectable Global VRS position at #4, right below Spirit and above teams like NAVI, G2, Eternal Fire, Falcons, Faze, etc.
Their position in the Global VRS fetched them a direct Stage 3 invite alongside the likes of Vitality, MOUZ, Spirit, G2, Aurora (ex-Eternal Fire), NAVI and Liquid.
Lynn Vision
After bagging an invite to the Chinese MRQ, Lynn Vision made the most of it, getting off to a solid start against Rare Atom in their opening game to secure a 2-0 win and an upper-final slot. Lynn Vision took down TYLOO in the upper-final, booking their Austin Major slot. Lynn Vision are now set to make their second appearance at the Major stage.
TYLOO
TYLOO has been a familiar name in a Asian Counter-Strike from a long time and were amongst the first to bring Asian representation to the Major along teams like Vici Gaming. However, in the recent past the team had devolved into a shadow of it's former self but through a lower bracket run in the Chinese MRQ, TYLOO has marked their re-entry to the Majors after four long years.
The Chinese MRQ was awarded a second slot because of Rare Atom's position in the Asian VRS.
Chinggis Warriors
A group of people who were just familiar names in ESEA Leagues and local Mongolian LANs, Chinggis Warriors are now representing Asia alongside The MongolZ, TYLOO and Lynn Vision at the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major. Chinggis Warriors have shown great potential in the recent past, putting up incredible performances in the ECL and pushing teams to their limits at LANs like eXTREMESLAND.
Chinggis Warriors' road to the Austin Major wasn't a smooth one. After taking down The Huns 2-0 in the opening round of the Asia MRQ, Chinggis Warriors suffered a crushing defeat against Eruption, heading down to the lower bracket. They took down Gods Reign and set up a rematch against Eruption in the grand-final where a hard fought 2-1, fetched them a coveted Major spot.
FlyQuest
After picking up Grayhound's Counter-Strike roster, FlyQuest went into the Shanghai Major but crashed out in the opening stage. Ever since, the team struggled to secure big results and has been constantly moving their pieces around. The Aussies seem to have found their best combination yet, as FlyQuest cleared the Oceania MRQ without a single flinch.
After a 2-0 win against Rooster, FlyQuest met SemperFi, led by their ex-captain AliStair in the upper-final. Back to back 2-0s against SemperFi, fetched FlyQuest a spot at the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major. FlyQuest did not drop a single map in their Oceania MRQ run.
