Media: Maniac faces the camera
In a new eight-minute video posted on his X account, disgraced Counter-Strike analyst and talent Mathieu 'Maniac' Quiquerez has shared some details about himself after it was revealed that he had sexually assaulted multiple women.
Maniac starts off by stating that he was overwhelmed when the incidents came to light and he went through 'violent emotions' which he didn't have under control. He also mentions that he questioned himself whether 'he was a monster' following the revelations of his abusive behaviour by the victims. He says that he questioned himself post that and while he was on a hectic schedule before, attending multiple Counter-Strike events a year, he did not question himself and introspect earlier about his own behaviour.
He rounds out the video by stating that he is working on himself and is far from the finish line but will continue to work towards a better place. He signs off by saying how important Counter-Strike is to him, how it changed his life, how much he loves it.

Following the release of the video, various people from the Counter-Strike community have come forward and noted how Maniac did not apologise to the victims he abused and how he only spoke about himself and tried to make it about himself.
This is the first time Maniac has faced the camera since the sexual assault incidents involving him were made public. The details were first shared in early September 2024, during the ongoing ESL Pro League Season 20, from which he stepped back. Subsequently he was dropped by ESL, BLAST and PGL. It was a Dust2.us report which revealed the further damning details about Maniac with multiple women from the Counter-Strike community coming forward to share the stories of being sexually assaulted by Maniac.
Post the revelations, Maniac released a statement talking about his problems with alcohol amongst other things.
