"We kind of met halfway in between" - DEFAULTER on rev3nnnn's addition
The second semi-final of the AMD GameOn 2024 saw True Rippers take on VICTORES SUMUS. Having just witnessed Gods Reign crumble to underdogs, Carnival Gaming, True Rippers took nothing lightly, taking down VICTORES SUMUS in a clean 2-0 series, setting up their grand-final showdown against Carnival Gaming.
After True Rippers' game, their IGL DEFAULTER joined Dust2 India in a short conversation about the semi-final and his opinions on the recent roster shuffles within the team. Addressing the same, DEFAULTER said that the team lacked practice coming into the event and played freely with no pressure on their shoulders.
A lot of roster changes recently, how did you approach this game?
We just made the team before the event and we did not have any practice, we just discussed how we want to play as a group and just wanted to enjoy the game without taking any pressure.
In the most recent Roster shuffle, Rossi went to Gods Reign and rev3nnnn joined True Rippers, swapping places. DEFAULTER spoke about rev3nnnn's versatility and praised his skills with the AWP.
rev3nnnn's addition was an important one, how did you fit him into the system in such a short period of time?
rev3nnnn is a very good AWPer and he is a versatile player, I have played with him before and we just discussed how we wanted him to play in our setup and he also told us how he likes to play and we kind of met halfway in between.
Carnival Gaming had taken down one of the tournament favourites- Gods Reign in the first semi-final earlier today and will face True Rippers in the grand-final tomorrow. Talking about Carnival Gaming's performance, DEFAULTER said that while the finals could run out as a highly contested game, he was confident that his team True Rippers would still take home the trophy.
They played really well today, it would be a good match up between us and we are confident to take the trophy.

Wrapping things up, DEFAULTER spoke about their stand-in DiceDealer, stating that he was impressed how the young Indian rifler had kept his form even after being out of action for the better part of the year.
If you had to name one, who was your standout performer today?
I think I really liked how DiceDealer played, despite not playing competitive for almost 9 months, he is really a solid anchor and a good teammate and clouda also stepped up big time in crucial rounds.
