Cloud9 sets up Brazy Party final date with Astralis

Cloud9 takes down OG 2-1

The second semi-final saw Cloud9 take down OG 2-1 to set up the Grand Final between themselves and Astralis, for Brazy Party 2023. Cloud9 reverse-swept OG 2-1 with interz stepping in for the team as well on the second map.

The match got underway on OG's pick of Inferno. Cloud9 started on the pistol but after taking the pistol and the eco, OG stepped up to finish the first half 9-6 in their favour. Cloud9 took the second pistol with OG answering back with a force buy. Cloud9 though went on a 5 round streak to take a two round lead before OG responded with three of their own. Even though flameZ came in with a crucial 1v1 against sh1ro to secure 14, Cloud9's continuous perseverance had broken OG's economy which saw Cloud9 race to map point. A brawl on the B site eventually saw OG win the 30th round to take the opening map to overtime. sh1ro ended the first overtime with an important 1v2 clutch which saw Cloud9 go 17-16. niko and degster both came in with crucial 1v2s of their own on the A site to put OG on map point. OG closed out the opening map 19-17 with degster ending the map with 26 kills.

The second map kicked off on Cloud9's pick of Overpass, with interz stepping in for HObbit, who had to sit out due to medical reasons. Cloud9 secured the pistol on their T side to get things underway. It took degster to win a 1v1 against sh1ro to get OG on the board on round five. A strong collective performance from Cloud9 saw them end the first half with a 9-6 lead as they headed into the CT half. OG won the pistol on the second half to close the gap to Cloud9 and they managed to tie the game at 9-9 before Cloud9 posted three back-to-back rounds, Cloud9 eventually managed to string together four consecutive rounds to win the map 16-11 and tie up the series. It was buster who ended up on the top of the scoreboard with a 1.26 rating on Overpass.

interz made a return to the C9 roster after H0bbit sat out the second map

The series decider saw HObbit return as the teams got ready to fight it out on Ancient. It was OG who took the opening pistol on Ancient starting on the CT side. It took Cloud9 seven rounds and a partial buy to get their first round on the board. Cloud9 put 8 T rounds together to send the half with a slight lead. The second half saw both teams trade rounds but Cloud9 managed to see out three map points as they took the map to overtime where they won it 19-16. Ax1Le ended the map with a 1.36 rating
