Media: Majors to have more teams from 2025

A breaking HLTV report has revealed that Counter-Strike 2 Majors will be changing their format to include more teams as the sources close to HLTV states that there will be 32 teams in the Majors starting from 2025, shifting from the current format with 24.

Along with a change in the number of teams participating, the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) events, which currently serve as the main qualifying stage for the Majors, will also be removed, moving ahead. This would mean that Skyesports' Skyesports Masters 2025, which is supposed to take place between May 26 - June 1, 2025, will not clash with the RMRs.

As per the report, with more teams, an extra Swiss stage is set to be added along with the Opening and Elimination Stage. The first Major of 2025 will be the BLAST.tv Austin Major, which will be held between June 9 - 22, 2025.
