Disappointing start for the Aussies in Katowice

FlyQuest go down to 3DMAX

It was not the start FlyQuest were looking for at the IEM Katowice 2025 Play-In as they went down to 3DMAX in the Upper bracket round of 16 encounter leaving the Australian squad on the brink of elimination.

Although FlyQuest started Train with the T sided pistol, it was Lucky and Ex3rcice helping 3DMAX answer back with the force and the French team ran away to a 10-2 lead and while FlyQuest converted a 3v5 to secure both pistols, their lacklustre T side saw them drop their own map pick at 5-13.

FlyQuest continued their pistol run on Inferno as well, picking up their CT pistol to get things going and had the early momentum before 3DMAX ran away with a 8-4 half. The Australians continued their pistol run to bring it down to a one-round game at 7-8 but once the French team brought out the guns, it was a quick finish as 3DMAX closed it at 13-7 to lock in a convincing 2-0 series win.

Dropping to the lower bracket, FlyQuest will face the loser of the Astralis-MIBR game next in hopes of keeping themselves afloat in Katowice.
