TYLOO RETURN TO THE MAJOR AFTER 4 YEARS
After TYLOO went down to Lynn Vision in the upper-final, they faced Rare Atom in the consolidation final for a second shot at an Austin Major slot. Rare Atom's position in the VRS fetched the Chinese MRQ a second Major slot. Lynn Vision already locked their slot by winning the upper-final yesterday.
After winning the pistol round on the T-side of Anubis, L1hang and ChildKing ran down the CTs with Mac10s, converting the anti-eco in Rare Atom's favor. With every single player from Rare Atom pulling their weight, they built up a 9-0 lead but let the last few rounds slip, still securing a big 9-3 lead on the T-side of Anubis.
The T-sidedness of Anubis was on full display as TYLOO mounted a valiant comeback despite losing a couple of rounds early in the second half. JamYoung's Tec9 3K against a fully equipped Rare Atom in round 16 gave TYLOO much needed momentum. TYLOO pushed Anubis into overtime where they closed the map 16-12, without dropping a single round.
The second map took us to Mirage where TYLOO started on the CT-side with a 7-1 lead. The JamYoung-Moseyuh duo wreaked havoc on Rare Atom's T-side, giving them little to no space to work with. A Mercury AK double kill sequence towards A, closed the first half 9-3 in TYLOO's favor, a perfect narrative flip from the first map where Rare Atom went up 9-3, tasking TYLOO with a steep climb.
Just four rounds away from booking a Major slot after four years, TYLOO started the second half with a pistol round win but Rare Atom stole the anti-eco off of L1haNg's MP9 triple kill. L1haNg and Summer put up a fight for Rare Atom to put overtime in discussion but Moseyuh and Mercury impact in the final few rounds was too much firepower for Rare Atom to handle as TYLOO closed Mirage at 13-7 to seal the series 2-0.
The win sees TYLOO book their place at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, becoming the second team from China to qualify for Stage 1 after Lynn Vision.
