“Now this (Nuke) has become our best map“ - RaYzeR

In a dominant 2-0 showing in the lower-final of Skyesports Souvenir 2025 National Championship LAN, VICTORES SUMUS took down Flashback Gaming. RaYzeR, who played a crucial part in the win, spoke to Dust2 India after the match.

The young Indian AWPer gave insight into the 2-0 performance, explaining their approach on Inferno, how the team picked up Nuke and made it their best map. He concluded by sharing how he was picked up by VICTORES SUMUS off of badman’s recommendation.

You went up against really experienced players (Flashback Gaming) how did you approach the game and how did you close the first map?

We had a good lead on them and then there were these small mistakes that could’ve easily translated into big ones and cost us rounds but we talked about it, calmed ourselves down and though ‘if we were up 7-1 at one stage, we can definitely close this out’. Yes they had a lot of experience and all but at that moment we got the better of them, we read the game better and that’s all that mattered in the end.

A lot of Indian teams struggle on Nuke but you guys seem to be changing that. Who pushed for Nuke to be added into your team’s map pool?

It was P7 and Champ’s map and before VICTORES SUMUS I have never played Nuke, I was like “What is this map? There are too many openings, too many rotations!” Rotations tend to get very chaotic on Nuke and we tempered that by playing a lot of scrims on EU servers. We lost these scrims badly in the beginning but once we started watching demos and started analysing stuff we understood how the map worked. Now this has become our best map.

How was your transition from ROG Academy and how did it happen?

It was badman who helped a lot. He recommended me to them and told them that I’m very passionate about the game and I want to do something for the country. I was then approached by VICTORES SUMUS and I was like “Yes! I want to grind”.
