MESA Asian Masters 2025: Preview

1 PGL Bucharest 2025 slot on the line

MESA Asian Masters 2025 kicks off today in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The studio LAN will also serve as the road to PGL Bucharest 2025 for one Asian team. Eight teams are locked in, all through the qualifiers and will lock horns in a double-elimination bracket.

After an initial round of Bo1s, the tournament switches to a bo3 setting throughout, barring the grand-final which is set to run a bo5 setting. After securing an invite to the Asian closed qualifier, Gods Reign conceded back to back losses against NomadS and ATOX, missing out on the LAN.

Rare Atom and DogEvil made it though the Chinese qualifier; ATOX and Chinggis Warriors booked their slots through the Asian qualifier and HOTU was called in to replace TALON, who won the Oceanic qualifier. MESA announced that TALON would not compete in the MESA Asian Masters LAN but did not state the reason.

However, TALON's IGL ADDICT took to X, expressing his disappointment towards missing out on an opportunity to further advance the team's VRS position. "Sucks to miss out on a chance to have a VRS advantage because our flights weren't organized in advance", wrote TALON's IGL on X.

SemperFi and Only One Word made it through the Oceanic Qualifier and the list rounds off with JijieHao who cleared the MENA qualifier. The first round of games begin tomorrow at 7:30 AM IST.
