IHC eliminate VICTORES SUMUS from PGL Astana contention
After losing their opening game against Gods Reign, VICTORES SUMUS headed down to the lower bracket where they faced IHC in the first round. The first map of the Bo3 took us to Dust2, where me1o and cool4st put up massive 1.87 and 1.62 T-side rating performances to fetch a 9-3 half in IHC's favor.
Pistol and anti-eco wins in the second half gave VICTORES SUMUS crucial momentum and riding off of that, the Indian side closed the gap in no time. Their IGL ChAmP led the charge, putting up a 2.02 rating performance on the T-side landing seven rounds in a row. VICTORES SUMUS closed out Dust2 13-11 after being 3-9 down in the first half.
On Nuke, one of VICTORES SUMUS's stronger maps, the team flunked out on the T-side, giving away an 8-4 lead to IHC. IHC's T-side was nearly impossible to contain. Switching over, IHC won four rounds in a row to start the second half and eventually ran away with the map 13-7 to level the series at 1-1.
The decider took us to Ancient and it was a blowout for the Indian side. After winning the pistol and anti-eco on the CT-side, VICTORES SUMUS seemed lost on the CT-side, as IHC put up eight rounds in a row to take a 9-3 half in their favor. VICTORES SUMUS had recovered from a similar deficit in the opening map but it wasn't to be, as IHC closed out Ancient comfortably with a 13-4 score line, knocking VICTORES SUMUS out of the PGL Astana 2025 Rest of Asia Closed Qualifier.
IHC will now face either Chinggis Warriors or HOTU in the lower-bracket semi-final.
