MOUZ deny f0rest a fairy tale comeback
MOUZ kicked off their IEM Dallas 2023 with a 16-9 win against fnatic on Nuke in their best-of-one opener. fnatic with f0rest standing-in for KRIMZ had a poor CT half which they couldn't overcome even though they started their T side strongly with a win on the force-buy.
fnatic and MOUZ kicked off their Dallas campaign on Nuke with fnatic on the CT side. JDC and xertioN's doubles gave MOUZ the pistol before frozen secured a 2-0 lead against the eco from fnatic with a double of his own. As the guns came out, a FASHR triple gave fnatic their first. nicoodoz and fnatic's substitute f0rest's double saw fnatic tie up the score at 2-2. nicoodoz's triple saw fnatic take the lead at 3-2 against an eco from MOUZ. frozen's quick double opener outside saw MOUZ cut down fnatic's lead to one at 4-5. MOUZ tied up the game at 5-5 converting against a mixed buy from fnatic. A frozen double saw MOUZ retake the lead at 6-5. xertioN's triple saw MOUZ secure 9 and they closed the half with a 9-6 lead.
xertioN's triple gave MOUZ the second pistol and saw them hit double digits first. fnatic responded back through a force-buy of their own to pick up their first T round. f0rest's 1v1 win against JDC saw fnatic get it to a one round game at 9-10. JDC's triple at the B site saw MOUZ get to 12. torzsi's double against upgraded pistols put MOUZ on match point and it was a xertioN double that closed out the map for MOUZ at 16-9.
