ENCE smashed Heroic on Overpass

ENCE sweep Heroic out of Gamers8

Snappi and co. shut down Heroic to take the Grand Finals berth at Gamers8 2023.

ENCE's form continues in Gamers8 as they demolished Cloud9 in the Quarters to setup a rematch against Heroic. While the Danes mantain their position at the top of HLTV's ranking, ENCE have racked up big wins in recent months and look more ready to actually lift trophies than Heroic.

Nuke is ENCE's home ground and getting to start there was a boon. The pistol went there way, while Heroic took the gun round. The two teams stayed neck and neck in the early rounds going up to 5-5. ENCE's entry into A gave them round 6, but Heroic managed to amass a respectable scoreline at 8-7 on the CT side. They further built on this success and managed to extend their lead to 11. Traded rounds got the scoreline up to a 12-7, but Snappi stepped up with multifrags to get ENCE 3 in a row.

Heroic brought out the classic Danish triple nade stack in round 23 to take down NertZ, hurt maden down to 3hp and secure a 13th, but ENCE held their ground in the final throws of the game. Cleaning up a 3v3, ENCE got within 1 round of cadiaN's troops. The individuals were all on fire as they quickly got up to 15. To put salt in the wound, Snappi brought out the autosniper, but that may have been a step too far as cadiaN clutched out round 30 to lock in OT.

The back and forth continued, but this time it was Heroic to take matchpoint at 18, and ENCE pushing it to a second Overtime. ENCE took two T sided rounds in OT2 and sjuush and stavn cleaned house in round 39. With SunPayus and NertZ both having an underwhelming showing, maden and dycha were bearing the heavy load for their squad, but there was only so much the duo could do. It was finally the Spanish Sniper's triple that gave ENCE matchpoint again and this time they closed it out to take the map 22-20.

Early wins for Heroic, were shut down by ENCE's force buy to start the map 2-2. Shutting down Heroic's forces, ENCE managed to take control of the game going up 7-2. Finally, Heroic picked up two rounds in a row to get their economy back under their feet. SunPayus stepped up on A to secure the half win at 8, and Snappi's constant pushed outside B got his team a big lead as they closed the half out 10-5.

Maden's pistol play gave ENCE the perfect start and got his team up to 12. Snappi's crew went flawless through the rest of the half to close the map out without trouble at 16-5. ENCE will now be playing in the finals and awaiting the winner of Vitality vs G2, either way there's a banger Cologne rematch on the cards.
