ADDICT: "We're just gonna have fun in the lower bracket"

After getting off to a strong start, things went down hill for Bad News Kangaroos, costing them the series. After their opening match loss to Aurora, ADDICT from Bad News Kangaroos spoke to Dust2 India about the game.

Bad News Kangaroos got off to a stellar start in the first half of Overpass but things slipped through their hands in the second half, regarding which ADDICT just gave credit to the opposition for their map control and spoke about their lack of preparation for that particular map. He also praised yourwombat for filling the stand-in role well but stated that their missing fifth might have made their life a bit difficult on the T-side.

They played really well on the CT-side and when they took map control they were doing it together. Overall Overpass is a rough map for us, we haven't been putting time into the map. We don't have our fifth, we're playing with yourwombat and he has done a really good job. No excuses but things were rough on the T-side without our fifth. We did really well in the first half to get the lead but it wasn't enough in the end.

Speaking about a crucial eco round loss on Overpass and the huddle to reset everything before the second map, ADDICT told that the team was positive regardless and just wanted to give it their all for the next map.

On Overpass we didn't expect to come as close as we did. Sure, it stings but the team is pretty positive no matter what. We know we f*ked up but that doesn't really stop the team from giving it their 110% in the next map.

To conclude the conversation, ADDICT spoke about his team's performance on Inferno

Yeah I think that (Aurora's Overpass comeback and early Inferno momentum) was really a factor. We weren't really getting anything going, we tried to force into a few rounds but a lot of those went their (Aurora) way. We didn't really punish their mistakes, we weren't really cohesive in taking map control.

When asked about the impact of an opening round loss in a small tournament like this one, ADDICT shared that he didn't know what to make of it and the fact that they faced Aurora in the first round.

I don't really know what to make of it. It was interesting that we faced Aurora in the opening match. We knew we had to beat Aurora twice to win the tournament anyways so yeah its fine, we're just gonna have fun in the lower bracket and grind it back now.
