True Rippers edge out Victores Sumus

The Playoffs of the Skyesports Showdown 2024 got underway with True Rippers taking on Victores Sumus in the BO3 with the winner all set to move into the Upper Bracket Final.

Victores Sumus snatched the CT-side pistol and anti-eco on Mirage but True Rippers opened their account with a brute force plant on the A-site. A plethora of back and forth trades ended with an even 6-6 half. True Rippers fetched themselves a momentary 8-6 lead to start off the second half but the ex-2EZ Gaming line up caught up.

Trading round for round, Victores Sumus had a chance to close out Mirage in regulation at 12-11 but True Rippers held on and pushed Mirage into overtime. Where True Rippers dropped just a single round and closed out Mirage 16-13, going 1-0 up in the series.

Starting off on the T-side of Nuke, Victores Sumus took the pistol and anti-eco but True Rippers bounced back to trade their way to an even 6-6 half. Rossi and DEFAULTER wreaked havoc on the T-side of Nuke, stringing up 5 rounds in a row to take the map away from Victores Sumus.

Dropping just 2 rounds on their T-side, True Rippers closed out Nuke 13-8, wrapping up the series 2-0 to win their opening match in the Skyesports Showdown 2024.
