True Rippers lose momentum at the end to miss out on major upset
The opening match of the Skyesports Championship 2024 saw the sole Indian team, True Rippers take on Asia's finest, The MongolZ. While most would've expected a walk in the park for the Mongolians, True Rippers stunned The MongolZ early on and it was only after lengthy delays that The MongolZ got back into the game and managed to avoid an embarrassing upset.
Ancient was the battleground for the BO1 with a quick hit through the middle from The MongolZ seeing them start with the opening pistol. True Rippers, got on the board as soon as they brought out the guns in round 3 thanks to a DayMake multi-kill. Rossi's triple kill B hold saw True Rippers hold on in a 3v5 to tie up the score early on at 2-2. It was Rossi taking charge, to shut down The MongolZ as True Rippers quickly ran away to a 5-2 lead. A crucial bLitz 1v2 on the B site saw The MongolZ pick up their third but DayMake's AWP on A saw True Rippers win out the half, as the Russian shut down an attack from The MongolZ with a clean triple. Rossi's stellar rifle work along with clean closing from Crazy_Gamer saw The MongolZ start with an 8-4 lead.

A quick B hit with a DEFAULTER multi-kill saw True Rippers even out the pistols. After a lengthy technical delay, True Rippers resumed the action with a B hit which was instantly shut down by The MongolZ, who locked in their fifth. DEFAULTER's 1v2 on the B site saw True Rippers bounce right back before the game was hit by another tech delay. senzu resumed the action after a second lengthy tech-delay to deny DEFAULTER a 1v2. Consecutive 1v1 clutches from The MongolZ saw them eventually tie up the sore at 11-11.
The MongolZ eventually hung on and avoided a big upset to take a 13-11 win to start their campaign with an important win.
