The Huns win MESA Pro Series Spring 2025
The Huns took on Eruption in the grand-final of the MESA Pro Series 2025. Alongside the $5,500 cash prize, the winner would also receive a IESF Asian Qualifier slot leading into the World Esports Championship. Coming in from the open qualifier, both these teams had not dropped a single map up until the grand-final.
The series started on Dust2 which was The Huns' pick. Starting on the CT-side, The Huns fumbled a 4-0 lead but nevertheless secured a slight advantage with a 7-5 score line at halftime. Pistol and anti-eco wins on the T-side from The Huns, set Eruption further back as The Huns dropped just three rounds in the second half to close out Dust2 13-8.
Coming in with a 0-1 deficit in the series, Eruption had to win their map pick Anubis, to just stay alive in the grand-final and push it into the decider. Eruption got off to a solid 6-1 start on the T-side but failed to capitalize as The Huns recovered and salvaged a 5-7 half.
Switching over, The Huns fully exploited the T-sidedness of Anubis. After conceding the pistol round, The Huns stole the anti-eco, shattering the CT-economy off of which they built a 6-1 lead for themselves in the second half, putting up double digits at 10-8. Eruption were able to scalp up a couple of rounds towards the end but The Huns ran away with the map 13-10, closing out the series 2-0 to win the MESA Pro Series Spring 2025 and secure an IESF Asian Qualifier slot.
