CS2 ends March with record player count
Counter-Strike 2's player numbers have been on a steady rise from the past couple of months and in March 2025, the game broke a major record in terms of player count. On 15th March 2025, Counter-Strike 2's peak concurrent player count reached an all-time high of 1,824,989 players, even surpassing that of CS:GO (1,818,773).
Counter-Strike 2 also ended March with the highest number of average players since the game's full release in September 2023. A record was set for the same just a month ago in February 2025 at a little over a million average players. However, the CS2's player numbers in March 2025 toppled the record by a humble ~42,000 extra in the average players column, coming in at 1,043,850 average players.
Counter-Strike 2's only big update in 2025 came in the form of the recent "Spring Forward" update which more or less catered towards cosmetics. While some believe that players have flocked to check out the new case and collections and probably get something from the new collection in their weekly drop, others argue that the hype is organic and is fueled by recent S-tier tournaments.
