Revenant picks up United21 League Season 18 title
Indian organisation Revenant have picked up the title of the United 21 Season 18 after taking down UNiTY in the Grand Final, following a 2-1 series win having to reverse sweep the series after going down in the opening map. While UNiTY started the Grand Final with an overtime win on Ancient on their pick, Revenant bounced back on Vertigo before locking in the series on Dust2. Revenant had former BIG player tiziaN standing in for adeX in the event with the latter being unavailable.
Revenant started their campaign in United21 League Season 18, in the upper bracket quarter-final against ECLOT, locking in a 2-0 to kick things off. NBK- and co. reverse swept TSM in the upper bracket semi-final, bouncing back in overtime on their map pick before a dominant win on the decider on Nuke.
In the upper bracket final, Revenant faced UNiTY and started with a big win on their pick of Vertigo. The Czech squad, though, bounced back to steal a 2-1 series win. Revenant put up a dominant showing against kONO in the consolidation final with captain NBK- leading from the front, which saw them make it rematch of the upper bracket final, in the Grand Final against UNiTY.
The triumph means that Revenant have successfully defended their United21 League title, after having won Season 17 as well. The NBK- led squad, who had gone down to UNiTY in the upper bracket final, extracted revenge and picked up their second first-place finish following the organisation's move to Europe. It has been a rough period for Revenant, finishing 9-10th at the recent Skyesports Championship 2024, 5-8th at the CCT Season 2 Europe Series 8 Closed Qualifier and 9-16th at the Shuffle Masters Season 1.
The win sees Revenant not only pick up the United21 League Season 18 title but also take home a prize money of $6,000.
