ESL Pro League Season 20 Playoff Teams

The MongolZ are the lone Asian representatives

With the conclusion of Group D at ESL Pro League Season 20, all teams for the Playoffs stages have been locked in with the 16 teams set to battle it out for the latest ESL Pro League (EPL) title.

Here's a quick look at the teams who have made it to the Playoffs and their route to it.

Group A - Natus Vincere, Eternal Fire, HEROIC and FaZe

Group A saw reigning Major champion Natus Vincere (NAVI) sail through to the Playoffs without dropping a single map, while Eternal Fire made it as well, only going down to NAVI in the upper bracket final.

FaZe, in typical FaZe style, made it hard for themselves, making it through the Lower Bracket after a shock loss to Sangal in the opening day while HEROIC were the final team to make it to the Playoffs from Group A, through the Last Chance Stage.

Group B - G2, MIBR, Spirit and The MongolZ

G2 were the first to make Playoffs from the Upper Bracket while MIBR were the surprise package, qualifying before one of the tournament favourites, Spirit. Spirit did make it through the Lower Bracket, with Donk powering his squad through.

One of the two Asian teams at the event, The MongolZ made it to the Playoffs, albeit from the Last Chance Stage, extracting revenge on 3DMAX, for their Skyesports Championship 2024 Grand Final loss.

Group C - M80, Imperial Esports, BIG and Complexity

Group C saw North America's M80 make everyone take note and sit up as s1n and his boys steamrolled Complexity and fnatic on their way to the Playoffs. Brazil's Imperial also made to the Playoffs from the Upper Bracket while BIG had to battle it out from the lower bracket.

While defending champions MOUZ and Astralis would have been expected to make it through, it was Complexity, having to beat Astralis and MOUZ twice to lock in the final Playoffs from the group, through the Last Chance Stage.

Group D - Vitality, Liquid, Virtus.pro and FURIA

Group D saw Vitality stomp ATOX and FURIA on the way to the Playoffs, while Twistzz led Liquid to the Playoffs, with Liquid putting in a stellar show in the group stages. Virtus.pro have had their troubles recently, but Jame and his boys made it to the Playoffs through the lower bracket while FURIA was the final team to lock in a Playoffs spot, defeating compatriots RED Canids in the Last Chance Stage.

The Playoffs kick off from September 17, 2024 and will be a single elimination bracket, with the 1st place team from each group having booked their place in the quarter-finals while the second placed teams will fight it out directly in the Round 2.
