The MongolZ make Thunderpick World Championship 2024 LAN Finals
After a strong-run through the Group Stages, The MongolZ faced Imperial in the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 Play-in, with a LAN Finals spot on the line.
The series kicked off on the Brazilian side's pick of Dust2 with which saw The MongolZ start with a massive 7-1 lead on their CT half before Imperial pulled it back with four-in-a-row. Imperial brought it back from 6-11 to hit map point first before bLitz and Senzu helped The MongolZ turn around a 4v5 in the final round of regulation to push it to overtime. It was a one-sided affair in overtime as 910 and Senzu led the charge to see The MongolZ through at 16-12.
Mirage started with Imperial going 4-0 up and taking a four-round lead on their CT half before The MongolZ took a important pistol round on their T-side thanks to a crucial A-site retake. An A-hit on an upgraded pistol buy with one Galil brought Imperial back into the game and the Brazilians were unstoppable once they brought out the guns and closed things at 13-6 with try topping the scoreboard with 21 kills.
The decenty show early on, on Inferno, helped Imperial start their CT side with a two-round lead at the half but The MongolZ fought back on their defensive half and it was Senzu once again stepping up for The MongolZ, when they needed him the most as the Asian squad put up an incredible defense to take the map 13-8 with Techno closing things out with an incredible 1v2 spray transfer on the A site.

The win sees The MongolZ lock in their place at the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 Finals, which will take place on Nov 2, 2024 and Nov 3, 2024 and will be a LAN event in Berlin, Germany. HEROIC and OG have already booked their place in the LAN Finals and with The MongolZ making it, the final spot is up for grabs between 3DMAX and BESTIA.
