BLAST clarifies Rising Asia qualifier issue

Non-Chinese registrations did not go through early on

The Asian side of the BLAST Rising circuit hit a minor speed bump yesterday which was quickly clarified and resolved by BLAST. The registrations for the open qualifiers had begun and after a while, dupr1ce took to X, pointing out a limitation on the registration platform that prevented them from confirming their qualifier entry.

BLAST has partnered up with GGTV to run the Asian qualifier and GGTV made the call to accept registrations through the well known Chinese platform 5EPlay. Teams had to register through the platform by creating an account, adding their team members and then applying to enter the open qualifier from the tournament page.

Teams facing registration issues for the BLAST Rising Asia open qualifier can seek help from the staff through BLAST Rising Asia's discord server.

However, 5Eplay requires a phone number tied to Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan or Macao which prevented many teams from confirming their open qualifier entries including a lot of Oceanic and Mongolian teams. Upon reaching out, BLAST quickly resolved the problem and issued a statement confirming that participants who had problems with registrations would be assisted by respective staff on the BLAST Rising Asia discord server.
