The MongolZ overpower Eternal Fire to make semi-finals at Katowice
After becoming the first Asian team to make Playoffs at IEM Katowice, The MongolZ continued to impress as Asia's finest sailed through to the semi-finals of IEM Katowice 2025, running through Eternal Fire in a dominant quarter-final affair.
The series kicked off on Eternal Fire's pick of Anubis, on which they came into the quarter-finals on a eight-map win streak. The MongolZ started strong and an eight round T side saw them hold on against a scrappy T side from the Turkish squad to pick up a 13-7 win. Mirage started with the same score line, as bLitz and co. took another four round lead to get things going, once again on their T side but MAJ3R and co. showed fight on their T side to make it a more competitive affair.
The Turks fought tooth and nail to push Mirage to double overtime as they weren't willing to go down easily but moving to third overtime, it was a clean-sweep from the Asian team on their CT side and The MongolZ closed Mirage at 22-18 to lock in a 2-0 series win.
The MongolZ will now face Vitality in the semi-finals of IEM Katowice 2025.
