Gods Reign's BLAST Rising dream comes to an end
Gods Reign took on UR in the qualification match of group C at the BLAST Rising Asia Spring 2025 Asia closed qualifier. The Chinese team got knocked down into the lower bracket by Gods Reign in the upper-final and set up a rematch by winning the consolidation final against Shika.
The map veto nearly mirrored their previous encounter with the difference being UR banning out Gods Reign's strong map- Ancient. The first map took us to Inferno where Gods Reign put up an abysmal T-side showing, just managing to win two rounds as UR took a massive 10-2 lead.
Switching over to the CT-side, a f1redup 3K with the P2000 fetched Gods Reign the pistol round and a bonus round MP9 mow-down from R2B2 a couple of rounds later, kept Gods Reign's bank on good terms but their four rounds streak came to an end as UR rage and Miami brute-forced their way into B a couple of times, fetching UR the match point and eventually the map at 12-8.
Gods Reign started on the CT-side of Mirage, conceding the pistol and anti-eco on Mirage but Ph1NNN's double kill with the CZ, took the bonus round away from UR. The Chinese side didn't let that sting too much as they kept outfoxing Gods Reign regularly. Gods Reign could've salvaged an 8-4 half, but Risk clutched a 1v4, netting UR a 9-3 half.
Gods Reign started strong in the second half, winning the first three rounds but UR recovered, putting up four rounds in a row and it was Risk once again who sealed the deal with a triple kill sequence with the AWP, as UR took Mirage 13-6, confirming their BLAST Rising Asia Spring slot. After winning their initial games, Gods Reign fell in the grand-final just one step short of the main event.
