CS2 skin creators likely to get new payment scheme
Well known Counter-Strike data miner and content creator, Gabe Follower took to X, posting a snippet of code which reveals Valve's new agreement for workshop uploads. The new agreement hints at skin creators getting a per-diem payment system where they receive a fixed amount of money every day their skin in featured in the armory collection.
A combined total of $3 Million USD was earned by skin creators in 2014, when Counter-Strike skins first hit the market.
Since the code specifically mentions armory collection, the policy's implementation towards other older skin creators is still uncertain. The previous revenue sharing model used net skin creators up to six figures annually, depending on the popularity of their creations. While the new system aims to level the field, a part of community think it would greatly reduce the earning potential of exceptional skin creators.
