ESL Pro League S21 Stage 2: Preview
The first stage of the ESL Pro League Season 21 came to an end yesterday after FURIA and paiN pulled off 2-1s in the 2-2 pool against M80 and Nemiga. Eight teams now move forward to the second stage, where they join eight invited teams.
Two Asian teams are in the mix- The MongolZ who secured a direct Stage 2 invite based on their Global VRS placement and TYLOO who nearly fumbled their 2-0 lead in the first stage but then beat their fellow APAC representatives FlyQuest in the 2-2 pool.
Stage 2 begins tomorrow with sixteen teams locking horns in a Swiss system bo3. Teams with three wins qualify to the eight-team single-elimination bo3 bracket playoffs whereas teams with three losses are eliminated from the tournament. The grand-final, taking place on 16th March 2025 will run a bo5 setting.
