Chinggis Warriors trounce Rare Atom
A grueling matchup in the upper-bracket semi-final of the MESA Asian Masters 2025 saw Chinggis Warriors take on Rare Atom in a bo3. The series started on Ancient and rounds went back and forth before controlez and NEUZ put their foot on the pedal, fetching the Mongolian team a flurry of rounds towards the end.
The advantage however, was small at 7-5. Rare Atom started strong on the T-side in the second half and never really let Chinggis Warriors adjust to the game's tempo. Dropping just a single round in the second half, Rare Atom closed out Ancient 13-8 with almost all of Rare Atom's player crossing 15 frags.
Chinggis Warriors nearly fumbled the second map, Inferno. The Mongolian side stopped Rare Atom in their tracks, putting up a solid CT-defense to slide a massive 9-3 half in their favor. Rare Atom won the pistol and anti-eco in the second half but conceded the first buy round. Rare Atom put together a scrappy buy and kept fighting to eventually close the gap at 10-10. Chinggis Warriors took a tactical timeout and recovered to close the map 13-11, pushing the series into the decider.
The decider took us to Anubis where Chinggis Warriors started on the CT-side, winning out the pistol, anti-eco and even the bonus round. Once again, Rare Atom flipped the narrative, stealing a partial buy round after which the Chinese went on to put up seven rounds in a row. Chinggis Warriors were at a 5-7 disadvantage at half-time.
Chinggis Warriors put up a brilliant T-side to close out Anubis 13-9, dropping just two rounds in the second half and wrapping up the series 2-1. Rare Atom head down to the lower-bracket semi-final as Chinggis Warriors await their opponents in the upper-final.
