Chinggis Warriors reverse swept by HOTU
Mongolian squad Chinggis Warriors suffered a shock loss to HOTU in their MESA Asian Masters 2025 Upper Bracket Final with the Russian team reverse sweeping the more recognised Mongolian squad to move one step closer to PGL Bucharest.
A late comeback on their CT half saw Chinggis Warriors turn around a 1-4 deficit to take a two round lead in the opening half of Dust2 before a strong T side led by NEUZ and Efire saw the Mongolian team take a 13-9 win on HOTU's map pick. HOTU started Chinggis Warriors' pick of Ancient with the CT pistol and conversion. After a tied opening half, mizu and lampada powered up to see HOTU stay alive in the series as they won Ancient 13-10.
Anubis saw the Russian team run away with a ten round T side to get things going with the trio of Lampada, kade0 and mizu stepping up and HOTU closed out the map at 13-5 to reverse sweep the Mongolian team 2-1 to move into the Grand Final.
While the win puts HOTU into the Grand Final and one win away from making it to PGL Bucharest 2025, its not all over for Chinggis Warriors as they now drop to the Consolidation Final, where they will take on the winner of the Rare Atom - JiJieHao game.
