Reckoning Esports joins Skyesports Masters as franchise team
Reckoning Esports has been announced as the fourth franchise team of the upcoming Skyesports Masters tournament.
The Mumbai-based esports organisation joins the likes of Revenant Esports, Gods Reign and 7Sea Esports as the franchise teams already announced for the CS:GO tournament.
Reckoning Esports will be announcing a five-man roster for the tournament and will also sign two players from the café qualifiers.
The Skyesports Masters is all set to be India's biggest CS:GO tournament ever, with a prize pool of INR 2 crore. The tournament s set to begin on July 1 with the action-packed League Stage running until Aug. 17. From here, the top four teams will advance to the Playoffs, which is set to happen on Aug. 26 and 27 as a grand on-ground event in front of a live audience. Eight franchised teams are set to lock horns for the title of champions and a share of the INR 2 crore prize pool.
The Skyesports Masters CSGO is an amazing initiative by Shiva and is a league which looks out for the teams to generate profit or at least break even. The format is very exciting and will truly help in reviving the CSGO industry of the country. The long-term vision of Reckoning Esports for the first-person title is to make a team that competes at the highest level in the region as well as becomes a representative for South Asia in global tournaments.”
Sharang Naicker, Founder, Reckoning Esports.
When I pitched the idea to Sharang about a franchised league which looks at scouting talent from the grassroots, he was immediately onboard. I have immense respect for organisations like Reckoning Esports which believe in picking up rising talent and giving them a chance to compete. I look forward to associating with them in the long term and reviving Counter-Strike in India."
