G2 through to the semis over VP

After a hard-fought 2-1 victory over VP, G2 moves on to face Vitality in the semi-finals of Gamers8

As VP's own map pick of Mirage got underway, it was fame's 8 kills that gave them a strong 3-0 head start kicking off the T side. However, as the heavy artillery came into play, G2's AWPs took charge, netting them 4 consecutive rounds. It was G2's aggressive approach in the following rounds that proved their downfall, resulting in a loss of 3 rounds. Despite this setback, they finished the first half on a high note, stringing together 5 consecutive rounds and securing a solid 9-6 lead, thanks to an impressive 1v2 clutch with the big green by HooXi.

Despite their promising performance in the first half, G2 struggled to gain momentum on the T side. VP capitalized on their pistol win by securing 3 more rounds, tipping the score to a 10-9 advantage in their favor. While G2 managed to even the score with a frugal round purchase, FL1T, and Jame stood strong, creating a resolute defense that thwarted any advances to the bomb sites. As the match wrapped up, G2 only managed to notch one more successful T round, leading to VP's 16-11 victory on the map.

Inferno commenced with a 3-0 start for the T-side of VP, as they punished the apartment push on the pistol and then converted the round by making their mark in Banana. G2 managed to win the first buy round with a strong hold on the A site. While VP was dominant on Banana as their effective utility usage gave them an edge, G2 was more dominant in the A holds and managed to recover the score from 6-1 to 7-8. Unlike Mirage, G2 showed a lot of teeth on the T-side. They maintained an unrelenting pace, executing explosive assaults with precision. Backed by solid individual performances, they relinquished only one round, culminating in a 16-9 victory on the map.

Vertigo's T-side was all about fame wrestling control of the B bombsite to come though for his team time and time again. Despite losing the initial 2 rounds, VP surged to an 8-3 lead by exploiting the B bombsite effectively. The A bombsite was still safeguarded by the safe pair of hands of NiKo, who paved the way for the 4th round acquisition for G2. However, the B bombsite emerged as G2's Achilles' heel once more, leading to VP concluding the half with a confident 10-5 lead.

HooXi ensured G2 came on top of the pistol round as he opened up the A site with 2 quick entries. G2 capitalized on the pistol win by going on a 6 round spree. With huNter- waking up on the T-side to assist his cousin in doing the heavy lifting, G2 clinched the map with a 16-12 victory.
