VERTEX starts their CS2 journey with a bang
The opening game of the Stage 2 of the ESL ANZ Champs 2023 Season 2 saw VERTEX take on Stirlzs Angels in the Group A upper bracket semi-final, with the event switching to CS2.
The BO3 encounter got underway on Stirlzs' pick of Inferno with VERTEX taking a 9-3 lead on the CT side. Once they switched to the T side, they didn't waste much time to pick up Inferno at 13-4.
VERTEX's pick of Vertigo was the second map of the series with Stirlzs picking up the opening pistol on the CT side. It was all VERTEX once again as they took a 10-2 lead but dpr's ace in the second half pistol saw Stirlzs fight back. VERTEX eventually managed to hang on to win the map 13-9 to secure the series 2-0.
VERTEX now moves on to the Upper Final and will face the winner of the sunday school and Antic match while Stirlzs have dropped to the Lower bracket and await the loser of the sunday school and Antic game.
