DogEvil forfeit both games in China MRQ

DogEvil disqualified from the MRQ

The Chinese MRQ got off to a rather odd start in the opening set of games. After Lynn Vision's convincing 2-0 against Rare Atom, the other side of the bracket had it's share of issues getting off the ground. DogEvil were set to take on TYLOO on the other side of the bracket.

The game was on track to begin soon, the match referee invited DogEvil's players to the test server to verify the roster and that's when disaster struck for the Chinese side. One of DogEvil's players, BZA was found to have connected with an account that didn't match the one provided at the time of registration.

In consultation with Valve the B5 ban on BZA has been upheld. As DogEvil don't have a registered sub or coach they are unable to field a valid roster and therefore forfeit the MRQ.

Upon asking to switch accounts, BZA mentioned that he had forgotten the password to his original account and could not log into the said account. The organizer began their side of the investigation and found that the original account had a ban on the B5 platform where the qualifier was held. The ban was handed down in 2017 for cheating.

Since the team had no coach or substitute registered to fill in under such circumstances, it resulted in an automatic disqualification of the roster from the Chinese MRQ. As a result, TYLOO were awarded a free win and Rare Atom in the lower-bracket now gets a free pass into the consolidation final where they stand just a single win away from a Major slot.

The organizer released a statement on Chinese social media platform Weibo, detailing out the timeline of events.
