TheMongolz headed to Atlanta
The final day of the ESL Challenger Atlanta 2023 Asia Closed Qualifiers saw two games take place, the consolidation final and grand final, with three teams fighting it out to book their spot in Atlanta.
It was the Chinese derby to kick things off as TYLOO faced Newhappy in the consolidation final. Newhappy's pick of Anubis was the series opener with TYLOO starting with a strong 8-4 lead on their T side. The solid defensive half saw them secure the map at 13-7 to go 1-0 up in the series.
On their own pick of Nuke, it was a one-sided affair as TYLOO started 9-3 on the T side and then closed it at 13-6 to take the series 2-0 and book their spot in the final against TheMongolz.
The Grand Final kick off on TYLOO's pick of Nuke with TYLOO once again starting strong on their T side at 8-4. TheMongolz tried to pull it back to overtime but TYLOO held on to edge out the Mongolian squad 13-11.
TheMongolz started their pick own pick of Mirage with a 7-5 lead on their T side and TheMongolz were untouchable on their T side as they won their pick at 13-6 to take the series to a decider.
After an even first half on the series decider on Overpass at 6-6, it was almost a flawless CT side from TheMongolz as they won out Overpass at 13-7 to take the series 2-1.
With the win, TheMongolz was booked their spot for ESL Challenger Atlanta 2023 and joins the likes of Complexity, Virtus.pro, Monte and others.
