FlyQuest breaks Aussie-playoffs curse
After their 2-0 win over Ninjas in Pyjamas in group D's last chance stage, FlyQuest have scraped through to the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 19, making them the first Australian representative since Renegades' quarter-finals appearance in ESL Pro League Season 8.
Liazz who took stage with Renegades to battle it out against MOUZ in 2018 at the ESL Pro League Season 8, went down to MOUZ 1-2 (16-4 on Cache, 14-16 on Mirage and 9-16 on Train), which ended their ESL Pro League Season 8 campaign in the quarter-finals itself.
Liazz will return to the arena once again, this time with FlyQuest as they look to put up a strong showing in the Playoffs.. The Australian team will begin their playoffs campaign against BetBoom tomorrow at 11:00PM IST.
Back to back losses against NAVI and BOSS sent FlyQuest down to the last chance stage with grim possibilities but the Aussies fought tooth and nail, taking down PERA and posting a convincing 2-0 over Ninjas in Pyjamas to turn their tale around. FlyQuest picked up Grayhound's Counter-Strike lineup when the org stepped back earlier this year.
The FlyQuest venture with the ex-Grayhound lineup started off on a positive note with the team dominating in the Oceania closed qualifiers to book their berth in the Esports World Cup 2024.
The current FlyQuest lineup reads as follows:
