ESL Challenger Jönköping: Opening round matches revealed

ESL Challenger Jönköping 2024 is all set to commence next week on 14th July 2024 and through a post on X, ESL have unveiled the opening round matchups. Asian representatives TheMongolz will take on NA's Party Astronauts to kick things off. TheMongolz scraped through the lower-bracket of the Asian closed qualifier and took down Lynn Vision in the grand-final to book their ESL Challenger Jönköping 2024 appearance.

TheMongolz are placed in group A alongside Aurora, Party Astronauts and Falcons. TheMongolz are currently competing at the YaLLa Compass 2024 where they put up a near flawless group stage to book a semi-final appearance. In Falcons, Paris 2023 Major star BOROS still remains on the bench.

The group stage will accommodate two groups containing four teams each and will run a GSL format with decider and elimination matches taking a bo3 setting. Top two teams from each group will advance to a single-elimination bracket playoffs.

The winner takes home the lion's share of the $100,000 USD prize pool along with a coveted ESL Pro League Season 20 slot.
