Team India set for AEC Chengdu 2024 challenge
After a lights-out performance in the South Asian qualifier going 4 for 4, the Gods Reign lineup representing India have booked their Asian Esports Championship 2024 slot and are headed to Chengdu for the LAN event. AEC Chengdu 2024 is the last in line of qualifiers for the World Esports Championship 2024.
Except the Chinese qualifier slot, the other nine teams from India, Pakistan, Palestine, Lebanon, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and Australis are locked in. The phases and format of AEC Chengdu 2024 haven't been revealed yet, more updates on which shall follow as and when made public by the organizer.
A top five finish at the AEC Chengdu 2024 guarantees a WEC 2024 slot. WEC 2024, set to be a LAN event in Riyadh will host 24 teams across four groups in the group stage. After a round-robin cycle, top three teams from each group advance to the playoffs, where a single-elimination bracket accommodating 12 teams crowns the champions.
Gods Reign's journey began in the NESC CS2 Open 2024, where victories against Griffin and Carnival Gaming set them up for a grand-final appearance against True Rippers. A couple of 13-10s netted Gods Reign a 2-0 win in the series and fetched them the Indian representative status at regionals. Playing under the Indian banner, Gods Reign wreaked havoc in the South Asian qualifier, taking down each and every team without a single loss to confirm their AEC Chengdu 2024 slot.
Team environment is great after qualifying for Chengdu it was like dream come true for me especially, and we are pretty excited to play under Team India tag and represent our country it’s a best feeling that I can’t express through words. We are practicing hard to prove ourselves in International Stage and of course we won’t let you guys down and we expect from you guys that don’t give up on us until it’s over! Thank you
