The MongolZ to start IEM Cologne 2024 Group Stage against donk and co.
After a three-map thriller against Eternal Fire, where The MongolZ extinguished the Turkish flame and hopes to lock in an IEM Cologne 2024 Group Stage spot, the Asian team now kick off their Group Stage journey from today.
It was far from the ideal start for Asia's best as The MongolZ put up an uncharacteristic performance in their Play-In opening game against SAW and were beaten comprehensively. The MongolZ bounced back strong to send Australian team FlyQuest home on the second day to keep their hopes of making it to the Group Stage alive after a convincing 2-0.
On the final day of the Play-In, The MongolZ started slow against Eternal Fire, who raced away with a dominating 13-4 win on Anubis to start the series. The MongolZ hit back on Mirage before a stunning CT side comeback led by Senzu saw The MongolZ stick the comeback in overtime to reverse sweep XANTARES and co. to book their Group Stage spot.
Moving to the Group Stage, The MongolZ are placed in Group A with the likes of Natus Vincere, Team Spirit, Astralis and G2 amongst other teams. The MongolZ will start their Group Stage journey against Spirit as they start off against one of the best teams in the world currently.
