Gods Reign starts RMR Closed Qualifier with a win
Gods Reign kicked off their journey to the Asia RMR in style in the Asia RMR Closed Qualifier opener against ONi, in the upper bracket quarter-final, turning around an early deficit to pick up a convincing win to move into the upper bracket semi-final.
The BO1 match took place on Ancient as the Philippines squad start with the CT pistol. After four straight rounds, it was a Mcg1LLzZz 1v2 on the B site that saw Gods Reign get on the board. A crucial reV3nnnn 1v2 on the B site, part of an ace saw Gods Reign avoid going down to three pistols and two saved guns which helped them take lead of the map as they ended with am 8-4 lead, after being 0-4 down.
Ph1NNN's Dualies helped Gods Reign further extend the lead after picking up the second pistol, but ONi answered with a strong force buy. While it wasn't the cleanest hold from Gods Reign, the Indian team closed it out at 13-5 to pick up a crucial win in the upper bracket. For the Indian team, it was reV3nnnn on top of the scoreboard, with maximum impact, dropping 20 kills.
The other upper bracket quarter-final, which took place simultaneously, between Forward and Revenge saw Forward lock in an easy win as Revenge forfeited due to technical issues.
Gods Reign will take on Forward in the upper bracket semi-final today, in a BO1 encounter and the Indian team have a chance to lock in the upper bracket final spot today itself.
