New Cache renders surface

FMPONE reveals latest Cache developments

Veteran Counter-Strike map creator FMPONE took to X, to unveil new renders of de_cache in the Source 2 engine. Cache is one of the most anticipated maps right now as the community eagerly waits to see FMPONE's artistry collide with Source 2's limitless capabilities.

The new renders of the map shows the area outside B-main, known as B-halls. The initial tiresome yellow-hued lighting no longer exists and the map adapts a much more natural setting, with shades of blue neutralizing the aforementioned effect. To right hand side of B-halls, we see the environmental dome fill the doorways, meaning which the sunroom area is still under development or is hidden away for a future render.

FMPONE's Cache is estimated to arrive in an open playtest capacity in early 2025 and when asked about gameplay aspects, FMPONE has said that art compromises will be made down the line when playtesting commences to strengthen gameplay. As per FMPONE's discord server, the map is far from complete with only B-Main, B-halls, A-main, checkers and garage in shape.
