Gods Reign end MESA Asia Series campaign
Gods Reign took on Clutch Gaming in the lower-final of the MESA Asia Series in group B. Both teams had suffered opening round defeats and were just a single loss away from crashing out of the tournament.
The bo1 took us to one of Gods Reign's stronger maps- Ancient. The Indian team started on the T-side and traded the initial frags in the pistol round bringing it down to a 3v3 but a USP 3K from hasteka booked the pistol round for Clutch Gaming. Gods Reign levelled the score at 2-2 with a couple of C4 plants but hasteka and Veccil were nearly unstoppable for the rest of the half, fetching Clutch Gaming an 8-4 lead.
ORIGLONIKO's double entry sequence towards donut followed but a Glock triple kill from IZR stole the pistol round from Gods Reign in the second half. Clutch Gaming reached match point at 5-12. Gods Reign's MP9s kept Clutch Gaming at bay and an AWP 3K from f1redup put Gods Reign well on track for a comeback. It all came down to a 1v3 at 10-12 which R2B2 nearly cleared but was traded for the last kill.
Closing out Ancient 10-13, the last minute invitees Clutch Gaming have booked their playoffs spot and will start in the quarter-final against IHC whereas Gods Reign's first outing with Rossi comes to an abrupt end as the Indian team crash out of the MESA Asia Series with back to back losses.
