The MongolZ see off Alter Ego challenge to start Asia RMR with a win
The MongolZ kicked off the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Asia RMR in style as they took down BnTeT's Alter Ego in the Upper Bracket quarter-final although the latter did put up a valiant fight against the best from Asia.
The BO1 took place on Ancient with The MongolZ's CT side getting things going. A double from 910 and bLitz in the pistol saw The MongolZ start with the opening pistol and a solid defensive half from Asia's best, retaking and putting up a strong defensive hold saw them go 10-2 up. A mzinho 1v1 against dobu on the B site made sure The MongolZ picked up both pistols on Ancient but a BnTeT double helped Alter Ego convert an aggressive force buy.
The force buy helped Alter Ego put up a their own defensive hold, which got them back into the game and Alter Ego brought it to 8-11 before mzinho opened up the B site with a double that put The MongolZ on map point and they closed it out at 13-8 making sure not to give Alter Ego any other chance to comeback into the game.
The win puts The MongolZ into the upper bracket semi-final, where they will face the winner of the Lynn Vision - DRILLAS match while Alter Ego drop to the lower bracket and will face the loser of the DRILLAS - Lynn Vision game.
