donk prevails as Spirit takes down Liquid to reach semis
The first two Quarter-Finals of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 are in the books, and we have Spirit as the second team to lock in a semi-final spot over Liquid.
The first map decided by the veto was Anubis, where Spirit started on the CT-side. Despite a slow start, capitalizing on which Liquid gained a 3-1 lead, donk and zont1x combined forces brought Spirit back into the game to tie the half at 6-6. Once the sides switched, it was a pure donk show, who earned a 2.29 rating on the T-side to propel Spirit to a 13-9 win.

The second map Dust2, Spirit's pick saw similar scenes on the T-side, as donk led the charge to push Spirit to a 7-2 lead. While Liquid found a late round resurgence to post 5 rounds on their CT side, winning the T-side pistol meant the game was wide open for both teams to take. However, losing the force buy spelled disaster for Liquid, as Spirit held tight to the momentum until match point to clinch a 13-11 victory.
