The MongolZ to start their PGL Bucharest campaign against 3DMAX

PGL Bucharest 2025 begins this weekend

Through a post on X, PGL revealed the opening round matchups for the upcoming PGL Bucharest 2025. The event is set to run as a $1,250,000 USD LAN in Romania, starting off with sixteen teams in a Swiss System bo3. The MongolZ have secured the top seed for the opening round, sitting above teams like G2 and FaZe.

Fellow Asian representatives, Rare Atom come in as the thirteenth seed, marginally above Complexity. The Chinese side fetched themselves a PGL Bucharest 2025 slot by winning the MESA Asian Masters 2025. In the opening round, Rare Atom lock horns with Virtus.pro.

The MongolZ will kick off their campaign 3DMAX. The Frenchmen were bested by The MongolZ in their previous matchups at ESL Pro League Season 21, Thunderpick World Championship and ESL Pro League Season 20. 3DMAX also came face to face with The MongolZ in the grand-final of the Skyesports Championship 2024 and took down the latter to secure the title win.

Once the Swiss System bo3 concludes, the top eight teams head into a single-elimination bracket bo3 playoffs that conclude with a bo5 grand-final to crown the winner. The winner takes home $400,000 USD which includes a $200,000 USD club share. A designated third place match with take place before the grand-final.
